The Hollister Gliding Club (HGC) is located in Hollister,
California, just south of the San Francisco Bay Area. (About a 45 minute drive south of San Jose.) We
are open year round with great local soaring conditions in the valley and mountains surrounding Hollister.
Hollister Gliding Club offers professional glider flight instruction that will take you from your first flight to solo, and all the way through your FAA Private Pilot Glider certificate. Additional instruction in cross country soaring, and glider aerobatics is also available, as well as the training to get your Commercial Glider and Certified Flight Instructor-Glider certificates too!

Country section of our website to read about some of our great soaring flights. 300KM and 500KM flights are common in spring, summer and fall. We also get prefrontal and post frontal soaring conditions all winter too.
After HGC students earn their FAA glider license
they can join BASA (Bay Area Soaring Associates. BASA gives
you access to a nice selection of high performance gliders for just one low monthly fee. You must be a licenced glider pilot
to join BASA. Tows are provided by HGC. |
